Love Dare Day 1 2024
Love Dare Day 1

Good morning and many blessings to you Christ followers, called by Jesus bright lights and cities on a hill!
How’s your marriage today?
As I mentioned yesterday, the enemy has been at work targeting marriages within the Church to destroy what God has Established and called VERY good -it started in the garden and is still going on today.
It’s a spiritual war against God and His creation.
The good news? We were saved , made new and filled with Gods Holy Spirit to stand firm in the midst of that war. We were also given Gods Word to tell us everything we need to know to conduct ourselves in the proper way that God has set forth in this war. That’s truly all that’s needed. The key is to actually do it consistently in faith.
For the next 40 days, I will be posting 1 challenge and scripture to practice in your marriages. This is a very basic, first level counseling tool that you can use to get started.
It taken seriously, it often resolves the most common issues in a marriage within a very short period and paves the way for tremendous marriage growth- even if it starts with just one partner (obviously better with both)
It’s from the Love Dare by the Kendrick brothers.
The way it works is simple.
Read and memorize the verse of the day.
Practice DOING the daily challenge that comes with the verse.
If you fail, own it and make no excuses (specifically choosing to own your own part and not focusing on the other persons part)
Here’s how to own it.
1) Ask God for forgiveness about it (you’ve sinned against Him by ignoring His Word), ask the person you’ve failed against for forgiveness, and try again the next day. When you succeed, go onto the next days challenge and continue living out the challenge that you have completed, every day.
It’s simple, but difficult. Hence our need for grace as we gather strength.
A warning -
Most women have the hardest time with days that focus on respectfulness towards her husband, not criticizing and guarding her words.
Most men have the hardest time on days that require they actively put their wives needs above their own and in fact, even consider their wives needs at all.

Day 1: Love is patient
Be completely humble and gentle; be
patient, bearing with one another in love.
—Ephesians 4:2 NIV
TODAY’S DARE
The first part of this dare is fairly simple.
Although love is communicated in a
number of ways, our words often reflect
the condition of our heart. For the next
day, resolve to demonstrate patience and
to say nothing negative to your spouse at
all. If the temptation arises, choose not to
say anything. It’s better to hold your
tongue than to say something you’ll
regret
